ZIPDX AND SUN MICROSYSTEMS COMPLETE CONFERENCE SERVICE TRIAL
Trial Participants Overwhelmingly Rate ZipDX Superior to Conventional Services
LOS GATOS, CALIF. - September 4, 2009 - Sun Microsystems, a high-tech industry leader with over 28,000 employees worldwide, recently completed a four-month trial of ZipDX's next-generation conferencing service. Under the auspices of Sun's IT Chief Technology Office, 60 Sun employees tested the ZipDX service to gauge the impact of its suite of enhanced features, comparing it to the "traditional" conferencing services that Sun gets from major providers. 87% of participants strongly preferred ZipDX to traditional conferencing services.
A post-trial survey queried participants about their experience.
87% were enthusiastic about switching to ZipDX from the conventional service for all of their calls. None were opposed to the switch.
100% preferred the patented ZipDX "No-Codes Conferencing" function that automatically recognizes participants when they dial in, and places them into the appropriate conference.
92% scored the on-line Dashboard as very useful or useful. The dashboard is available via any web browser, shows who is on the call, provides participant status (including who is currently speaking), and gives the host access to a suite of conference controls.
92% valued ZipDX's unique security features. Most conferencing systems use shared access codes, which are readily breached and allow unintended (and sometimes unknown) participants entry into confidential calls. With ZipDX, only participants who are invited have access to any given call.
79% were excited about the ZipDX Call-Me feature, which lets attendees choose to be called at meeting time, rather than having to remember to dial in. This feature is especially convenient for mobile phone users, avoiding the fumbling and distraction required to dial into other services.
100% reported no problems adapting to ZipDX, with 92% indicating they were comfortable with the system after their first call.
100% indicated that ZipDX audio quality was at least as good as other services; 42% said it was better.
100% of those that were able to experience "wideband audio" felt it was better than traditional audio. Of this group, half rated it "awesome."
100% said ZipDX was always available over the phone and on-line.
75% felt ZipDX conference calls were more likely to start on time.
Comments from the respondents included: "I loved the solution, and found it to be very useful." "I absolutely LOVE ZipDX." "I loved it. It had rich features and was easy to use." "ZipDX provides excellent conference calling capabilities. I would definitely continue using it and highly recommend it as well."
The trial encompassed 143 ZipDX conference calls and 624 people-hours of conferencing. Participants were located in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Australia and Singapore.
